A series of missile and drone attacks launched by Russia on Ukraine’s capital and its vicinity caused injuries to at least 16 individuals overnight and through Thursday morning, as confirmed by local authorities.
The Kyiv City Military Administration disclosed that the assaults took place at over 10 locations, resulting in harm to a 10-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy among others, according to a statement released on Telegram.
Ukraine’s Air Force asserted that it successfully neutralized or disrupted 131 Russian aerial threats during the nighttime offensive. The primary regions under attack were Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa, with strikes observed at 36 locations and remnants from intercepted targets falling at five locations.
The assault reportedly utilized ballistic and cruise missiles, along with 157 drones and decoys. Russia’s Defence Ministry detailed that the military struck metallurgical and electronics plants, military-industrial complex facilities, energy installations, and transportation hubs in the Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions.
In Odesa, seven individuals, including two children, sustained injuries, with residential structures affected on higher floors of a building. Additional damages were reported in various locations, including a private residence, warehouses, a kindergarten, cars, and garages.
Moreover, in Kyiv’s Dniprovsky district, multiple structures and vehicles suffered damage, while the Solomyansky and Darnitsky districts also experienced impacts on warehouses and vehicles.
Across the Kyiv region, civilian areas and critical infrastructure were targeted in districts such as Obukhiv, Brovary, Fastiv, and Bucha. The head of the Kyiv Regional Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, noted that a total of 33 sites incurred damage, with significant impacts in Brovary and Fastiv districts, affecting private residences, warehouses, production facilities, and vehicles, but no casualties were reported.
