“Schoolboys Fall from Moving Bus on Bolton Road”

Yesterday, a shocking incident occurred on Bolton Road in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Wigan, where three schoolboys fell from a double-decker bus. The boys, aged 13 and 14, are currently hospitalized but are reported to be in stable condition. According to the police, the boys fell while leaning against the bus window during an emergency stop.

Footage of the incident has surfaced, showing the moment the boys fell from the stationary bus. In the video, several individuals are seen exiting through a side window on the top deck before the bus starts moving. Following the fall, a silver car behind the bus cautiously navigates around the fallen individuals on the road.

An updated statement from Greater Manchester Police confirms the details of the incident. The schoolboys, students at St Edmund Arrowsmith Catholic High School, are receiving support from the school and their families. Mayor Andy Burnham expressed concern over the incident, indicating that it may have been linked to a disturbance on the upper deck of the bus.

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) and Vision Bus, the bus operator, have emphasized the importance of passenger safety and are cooperating with authorities in the investigation. TfGM’s Interim Network Director for Bus, Alison Chew, expressed deep concern for the injured children and their families, reaffirming the commitment to ensuring safety across the network. Vision Bus reiterated their commitment to passenger safety and wished a speedy recovery to those involved in the incident.
