Freeview has confirmed several channel changes, including service name modifications and channel relocations within the TV guide. Freeview has officially announced: “On May 20, 2026, certain broadcasters are implementing channel modifications. Viewers are required to retune their TVs to maintain updated channels and TV Guide information.”
Among the updates, two channels have undergone name changes. Hobbycraft TV, previously on channel 97, is now known as Shop Unlimited, while Great! Romance Mix, previously on channel 61, has been replaced by Great! TV +1.
Additionally, there have been adjustments to channel numbers, with Great! Movies moving from channel 61 to channel 62, and Great! TV +1 taking over channel 61.
Freeview emphasized the continuous evolution of channels with providers making decisions to relocate, add, or remove channels. The platform ensures a diverse content offering for audiences to enjoy.
If the updates are not reflected on your TV, manual retuning may be necessary. To retune your TV:
– Press the menu button on your TV or set-top box remote.
– Select “set-up,” “installation,” “update,” or a similar option.
– If prompted for a password, try “1234” or “0000.”
– Choose “first-time installation,” “factory reset,” “full retune,” or “default settings.”
– Confirm the deletion of existing channels if prompted by pressing “OK.”
– The retune process should initiate automatically.
– Save any channels found during the scan if prompted.
