Four fortunate Premium Bonds investors have each been awarded £100,000 in prizes for purchasing their winning bonds exclusively in December. These bonds were only qualified for inclusion in the February 2026 draw onwards, requiring a full month of ownership to be eligible. One of the £100,000 recipients bought a £50 bond in December 2025.
Residing in Essex, the first winner holds a total of £19,150 in Premium Bonds, while the second winner from Brighton and Hove possesses £38,025 in total, with their winning bond valued at £13,000. The remaining two £100,000 winners each have £50,000 in Premium Bonds, with one living in Cheshire and the other in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Each month, two £1 million Premium Bond prizes are distributed, with one recipient from Liverpool and another from Central Bedfordshire being the big winners in the February 2026 draw.
Premium Bonds, a savings product offered by National Savings & Investment (NS&I), differ from traditional interest-bearing accounts by entering holders into a monthly prize draw instead of providing a set interest rate. Prizes range from £25 to £1 million, with higher chances of winning smaller amounts compared to the grand prizes.
Participants can hold a maximum of £50,000 in Premium Bonds, with each £1 investment assigned a unique bond number. The odds of winning a prize each month are 22,000 to 1 per £1 bond. Winners are typically notified via email or text message by NS&I, giving them the option to receive the prize as a bank deposit or reinvest it in Premium Bonds.
The current prize fund rate, akin to an interest rate for Premium Bonds, stands at 3.60% since the August 2025 draw. Recent data shared with This is Money unveiled the luckiest regions for winning Premium Bond prizes, with Hampshire and the Isle of Wight leading in 2025, having 42 individuals winning £100,000 prizes. Moreover, Essex, Outer London, Norwich, and Cumbria also had significant prize winners in the past year.
