A new boy band named December 10, dubbed as ‘the next One Direction,’ by Simon Cowell, is set to embark on their first live tour in February. The group, introduced in the Netflix series “Simon Cowell: The Next Act,” will be performing in cities like Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, London, and Dublin.
Expressing their excitement, the band members, who secured a record deal with EMI/Universal music, stated, “We’ve been buzzing to get on stage and play live together. We’ve become best mates through all of this, so sharing that moment on stage, doing it in front of people for the first time, is something we’re proper excited for.”
Although fans will have to wait for their debut single, December 10 has already gained attention with their cover of NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye” on YouTube, accumulating over 1 million views in a short period.
The band comprises seven members with diverse experiences. For instance, Nicolas, 16, represented Portugal at Junior Eurovision, while Sean, 19, performed for the Irish National Opera. Cruz, 19, starred as a young Michael Jackson in London’s West End, and Danny, 17, appeared on The Voice Kids in 2023.
Simon Cowell’s talent search in the UK resulted in selecting December 10 as the final seven members, named after the release date of the documentary “The Next Act.” With his success managing One Direction, Cowell aims to replicate that achievement with this new band.
Kamille, a singer-songwriter on the judging panel alongside Simon, praised the group’s talent, saying, “I think this group is going to be huge, they give me goosebumps when they perform. They could be the next One Direction.”
Describing her role as a mentor to the band, Kamille emphasized the importance of mental health and staying grounded in the industry. She expressed her pride in the band’s progress and highlighted their enthusiasm for the journey ahead.
