Two adolescents have been swiftly transported to a medical facility after plunging from a cliff at a national park. Responders were summoned to Berowra Valley National Park in Cherrybrook around 5:15 pm on Friday, January 30. A 17-year-old male sustained multiple injuries in the incident, while a 16-year-old female received treatment from NSW Ambulance paramedics after also falling from the cliff.
Authorities from the South Wales Police have initiated an investigation to determine the sequence of events. A spokesperson from NSW police reported, “An ongoing operation is in progress following the injuries sustained by two teens who fell approximately 10 meters over a cliff in the north-west of Sydney.” A medical team dispatched by helicopter is actively working to stabilize the critically injured boy, who is expected to be transferred to Royal North Shore Hospital by road ambulance once safely transported to the cliff’s summit.
The 16-year-old girl, also injured in the fall, was attended to by NSW Ambulance personnel and subsequently transferred to Royal North Shore Hospital. Her condition is currently stable. Additionally, a 47-year-old woman received treatment at the scene for shock.
Officers from The Hills Police Area Command are collaborating with paramedics and members of the Rural Fire Service to support the ongoing operation.
