PDC Responds to Saudi Arabia Darts Ambiance

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has provided clarification regarding the audience composition at the Saudi Arabia Darts Masters following comments made by Nathan Aspinall suggesting otherwise.

The tournament commenced recently with notable players such as Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen, and Luke Humphries participating, alongside Aspinall. After securing a victory in his opening match against Lourence Ilagan, Aspinall shared his perspective on the event’s ambiance, noting some reservations about the audience’s engagement.

In response to Aspinall’s remarks, the PDC asserted that all attendees were enthusiastic spectators, emphasizing that this event marked a unique experience for many attendees new to live darts. The PDC acknowledged the distinct atmosphere and audience dynamics compared to established darts events in the UK and Europe.

Echoing Aspinall’s sentiments, current world champion Littler also commented on the comparatively subdued atmosphere, highlighting the need for a livelier environment. Despite the differences in ambiance, Littler expressed satisfaction with his performance and readiness for upcoming matches.

As discussions around the Saudi Arabia Masters continue, the PDC welcomes feedback and engagement from the darts community, emphasizing the positive reception and strong interest witnessed during their debut in Saudi Arabia.
