Mark Wright playfully mentioned that his recent project was so “terrible” that his wife Michelle Keegan refuses to watch it. The former star of The Only Way is Essex has been married to Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan since 2015.
In March, the couple shared the joyous news of welcoming their first child, Palma, into the world. Since departing from TOWIE nearly 15 years ago, Mark, 38, has appeared on various shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and The Bachelor.
In 2024, Mark embarked on a Saturday morning radio gig on Heart FM alongside former X Factor contestant Olly Murs, 41. As part of their collaboration with the station, Mark and Olly engaged in lighthearted challenges on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
These challenges included trying to snap selfies with cartoon characters at Warner Bros World, braving the 149mph Formula Rossa rollercoaster at Ferrari Land, and competing in speedboat races. However, the duo faced some embarrassment while tackling Yas Waterworld, conquering the tallest drop slide, the fastest slide, and retrieving items from the rapids.
During an appearance on Heart Breakfast, Mark revealed that the rapids challenge was particularly tough due to ill-fitting flippers and rapid currents. Amanda Holden then inquired about Michelle’s reaction to Mark and Olly’s antics, to which Mark humorously shared that Michelle prefers to enjoy the show from afar with a pina colada by the pool alongside Palma.
Despite the jesting, Mark expressed gratitude to his family for their support throughout the challenge. Mark clarified that his thanks were directed towards his mother, Carol, not Michelle. Carol, 65, recently shared her delight in babysitting Palma, highlighting the child’s joyous and lively nature during a shopping outing.
Mark’s sister Jess, also a former TOWIE cast member, marveled at Palma’s exceptional behavior, contrasting it with the challenges she faced with her own son, Presley. In a podcast episode, Carol acknowledged her careful approach as a mother-in-law, aiming to avoid the stereotype of being overbearing.
Carol admitted feeling the urge to restrain herself when it comes to Michelle, emphasizing the importance of balance and respect. She acknowledged the complexities of transitioning into a new family dynamic and underscored her intention to maintain a supportive yet respectful stance.
