A teacher described as “obsessed” has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy, reportedly exchanging around 25,000 text messages with him. Allison Havemann-Niedrach, a 45-year-old mother of two from New Jersey, admitted to one count of aggravated sexual assault, potentially facing a maximum of 12 years in prison.
According to a police investigation, the teacher’s involvement with the teenager began in January 2024 and continued until her arrest in June of the same year. Witnesses claimed to have observed Havemann-Niedrach having daily lunches with the student and engaging in what appeared to be flirtatious physical contact. The boy’s sister reportedly saw him in the teacher’s car before he disclosed the illicit relationship to his mother. Subsequent findings revealed a trove of text messages, photos, and videos shared between the teacher and student.
Prosecutors noted that Havemann-Niedrach, described on LinkedIn as a dedicated and sincere educator, displayed an “obsession” towards the victim. The victim disclosed to authorities that their encounters took place at the teacher’s residence and various hotels.
Scheduled for May 7, 2026, the sentencing phase will see the prosecution pushing for a 12-year incarceration term and the revocation of her teaching credentials. The Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the teacher’s admission of guilt and detailed the legal proceedings, emphasizing the severity of the charges and potential penalties, including parole supervision for life and registration as a sex offender under Megan’s Law.
