Protester Bites Off Finger of Homeland Security Agent

An individual in Minneapolis reportedly injured a Homeland Security agent by biting off their finger on the same day that a U.S. citizen was fatally shot by a federal officer.

Shortly after a video surfaced showing the death of Alex Pretti at the hands of a Border Patrol agent, Department of Homeland Security officials stated that an officer would lose a finger due to an altercation with a protester.

Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, announced on X that during the riots in Minneapolis, law enforcement officers were attacked, resulting in one protester biting off an HSI officer’s finger. The officer is expected to lose the finger.

Homeland Security released a statement alleging that Pretti resisted violently when authorities tried to disarm him and that he was carrying a 9mm semi-automatic handgun and two magazines.

However, in a video clip, a woman can be heard denouncing the incident as police brutality, claiming that the observer was being physically assaulted.

The Department of Homeland Security stated that Pretti was armed, but details surrounding the shooting remain unclear.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz reached out to the White House following what he described as another tragic shooting by federal agents, urging President Donald Trump to remove the allegedly violent and untrained officers from Minnesota.
