Cheshire Police are in pursuit of a man who escaped from prison while serving a 23-year sentence for attempted murder. Kieran Cameron, involved in a 2016 attempted murder in Dorset, disappeared from HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington recently. Authorities urge the public to assist in locating Cameron and advise against approaching him, instead recommending calling 999 if spotted.
Cameron, along with Michael O’Rourke, carried out a violent attack on a 22-year-old man from Poole, stabbing him multiple times in what was deemed a premeditated assault. The victim sustained severe injuries but survived. Detective Sergeant Jamie Halford emphasized the severity of such crimes, stating that law enforcement will vigorously pursue perpetrators of violent acts.
Described as a white male with medium build, receding hair, and a ginger and grey beard, Cameron has connections to Manchester, Liverpool, and Dorset. Detective Chief Inspector Nick Henderson of Cheshire Police appeals to the public for any information on Cameron’s whereabouts, emphasizing the importance of not approaching him but contacting authorities immediately.
The Prison Service stresses that absconding is a serious offense and that offenders may face extended imprisonment. They urge individuals with information to cooperate with law enforcement efforts in locating escaped prisoners.
