A physician has shared a disturbing account of his efforts to aid Alex Pretti after he was shot by an ICE agent and detailed the subsequent actions of the shooter.
Alex Pretti tragically lost his life in Minneapolis on January 24 amidst protests against ICE agents and the Trump administration’s immigration policies.
The doctor alleged that instead of providing immediate medical assistance, federal agents chose to tally Pretti’s gunshot wounds. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) maintains that the agents fired in self-defense, citing Pretti’s possession of a handgun during the incident.
Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara indicated that Pretti, an ICU nurse, possessed a valid gun permit, but there is no evidence suggesting he intended to harm officers during the protest.
A witness, described as a physician, submitted a court document contradicting the DHS claims. The witness stated that they never saw Pretti display a weapon and witnessed ICE agents pushing him to the ground before shooting him multiple times.
The witness recounted attempting to treat Pretti’s injuries while the agents were focused on counting his bullet wounds instead of providing aid. They expressed confusion over the agents’ actions and highlighted the lack of standard medical procedures being followed.
Alex Pretti is remembered as a selfless individual who tried to shield others before being shot by an ICE agent. Witnesses heard 10 gunshots and observed the agents retreat from Pretti’s body without attempting resuscitation.
The incident drew cries and shock from onlookers as the tragic events unfolded in broad daylight, leaving a community in mourning over the loss of a compassionate individual.
