A convict who escaped from prison has been apprehended by the authorities, as confirmed by the police.
Kieran Cameron, aged 43, absconded from HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington on January 6. He was serving a 23-year sentence for attempted murder in Dorset back in 2016.
After seeking public assistance to locate Cameron and advising against approaching him, Cheshire Police announced that he was found in the Hulme area of Greater Manchester and taken into custody. A police statement declared, “We’re pleased to confirm that a man who absconded from HMP Thorn Cross has now been arrested.”
Cameron was incarcerated for his involvement in a violent incident in February 2016, where he and another individual, Michael O’Rourke, viciously stabbed a 22-year-old man from Poole multiple times.
During the trial, it was revealed that Cameron and O’Rourke targeted the victim due to threats from a rival gang, aiming to shift blame onto their adversaries. The victim sustained ten stab wounds to critical areas during the assault in February 2016.
Detective Sergeant Jamie Halford of Bournemouth CID expressed satisfaction with the court’s sentencing, emphasizing zero tolerance for knife-related violence and commending the prompt actions of the public and medical personnel who aided the victim.
