The latest release of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein by the Department of Justice discloses that in his final will, Epstein planned to leave his partner $50 million, a 33-carat diamond ring, Little Saint James Island, and his New York townhouse.
Epstein finalized his will just 48 hours before his death, outlining the distribution of a $288 million fortune and various international assets to over 44 beneficiaries.
In the will, Epstein identified his partner, Karyna Shuliak, as originating from Belarus and suggested a long-term romantic relationship with the deceased financier. The document also specified properties in Paris and Florida allocated to Shuliak.
The revelation coincides with Epstein’s statement expressing his opinion on Donald Trump’s intelligence in an email found within the recently disclosed documents.
Reports indicate that Epstein financially supported Shuliak’s mother’s medical expenses and may have contributed to the upkeep of her parents’ luxury residence in Minsk, Belarus.
The 33-carat diamond ring designated for Shuliak was intended for a potential marriage and was described as set in platinum with baguette-cut diamonds.
Epstein died while awaiting trial for charges related to sex trafficking. The will was witnessed by his attorney, Darren Indyke, eight days after Epstein’s passing.
Indyke was set to inherit $50 million, and his accountant, Richard Kahm, was to receive $25 million. The remaining estate was directed to a trust used for compensating victims, taxes, and legal fees, with $127 million still available.
Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, was listed to receive $10 million, alongside Epstein’s brother and pilot.
Shuliak, Epstein’s girlfriend, had the last telephone conversation with him before his death in 2019. She visited him at the Metropolitan Correctional Center 11 days prior to his suicide.
The Department of Justice released three million documents from the Epstein files on Friday, revealing additional insights into Epstein’s will.
