In a recent incident in Poland, a 35-year-old man wanted for murder was uncovered by police with the help of his six-year-old child. The events unfolded in Wola Krzysztoporska, a town near Łódź, where authorities discovered the man hiding in a local apartment.
Upon arriving at the residence on Monday, officers encountered the man’s 33-year-old partner who initially denied his presence. She claimed there were only two occupants in the dwelling, herself and her child. However, during a search of the premises, the child quietly revealed the man’s whereabouts by saying, “Daddy is playing hide and seek,” and pointed to a sofa bed. Underneath the seat, police found the fugitive trying to evade capture, leading to his arrest and sentencing to 15 years in prison.
The mother may also face legal consequences for her actions, possibly receiving up to a five-year sentence as reported by Belgian news outlet 7sur7. The Regional Court in Legnica had issued a warrant for the man’s arrest, with the investigation handled by the Głogów District Prosecutor’s Office.
Assistant Inspector Edyta Daroch of the Municipal Police Headquarters in Piotrków Trybunalski stated that upon questioning the partner, she denied the man’s presence. However, the child eventually disclosed the man’s hiding spot, leading to his apprehension.
In other news, an ex-burglar shared crucial advice on what to do if faced with an intruder at home. Michael Fraser, now a security consultant, emphasized the importance of not confronting intruders, suggesting actions like securing the bedroom door, making noise, and calling emergency services immediately in case of a break-in.
