Apple has introduced AppleCare One in the UK, following its successful launch in the US. This subscription service allows British customers to protect multiple Apple devices under a single plan, offering simplicity and potentially cost savings.
For a monthly fee of £16.99, AppleCare One covers up to three eligible devices, such as iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches. In case of accidental damage, loss, or theft, Apple will repair the device or provide up to three replacements per year, depending on the claim type.
AppleCare One expands on the existing AppleCare+ service, which includes unlimited accidental damage repairs, battery servicing, and 24/7 priority access to Apple support. The key advantage of AppleCare One is the ability to protect multiple devices with one subscription, eliminating the need for separate plans.
According to Apple, customers covering an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch could save up to £11.48 per month compared to purchasing individual AppleCare+ plans for each device.
One notable feature of AppleCare One is the flexibility to add eligible devices up to four years old to the plan, as long as they are in good condition. This is a significant improvement over the typical 60-day window for purchasing AppleCare+ after buying a device.
Customers can easily upgrade their subscription when they trade in a covered device and purchase a new one from Apple. The old device is automatically removed, and the new one is added to the plan without any additional steps.
Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, Bob Borchers, stated that AppleCare One offers a simplified and flexible way for UK customers to enjoy the trusted protection of AppleCare+, ensuring peace of mind with comprehensive coverage for all eligible products.
