January and March share the second spot, with 68.8% of listed properties finding buyers on average in these months. Following closely are April at 68.7% and May at 67.7%.
In contrast, October ranks lowest on the list, though still witnessing a 65.4% success rate in selling listed homes. On average, it takes seven months to finalize a sale after listing a property.
The study by Rightmove examined millions of property listings from 2014 to 2024, excluding 2020 due to the pandemic. The analysis also omitted 2025 listings to capture ongoing sales.
January proves to be the fastest month for securing a buyer, taking an average of 47 days, closely followed by February at 48 days. March stands out for the highest number of new property listings and overall sales agreements.
Colleen Babcock, a property expert at Rightmove, emphasizes February as the prime month for selling a home, highlighting the upcoming Spring season as another favorable period for property transactions.
