“Woman’s £15,000 Breast Surgery Horror: Leaking Implant, Green Fluid”

A woman faced a life-threatening situation after spending more than £15,000 on breast enhancement surgery that resulted in uneven breast sizes due to a leaking implant emitting “green fluid.”

Lisa Hart, aged 45, sought cosmetic adjustments following the birth of her five children, feeling self-conscious about her size 36E breasts. Opting for breast reduction and reconstruction at a Glasgow clinic for £15,500, she underwent the four-hour procedure in May 2025.

Shortly after the surgery, Lisa noticed green fluid seeping from her right breast, leading to complications such as an abnormal healing process and the formation of a small hole over the following weeks. Despite voicing her concerns and experiencing fever-like symptoms, she alleged that the clinic dismissed her complaints. Seeking medical attention in June 2025, she was diagnosed with sepsis, resulting in the removal of the infected implant.

As a result of the botched surgery, Lisa now has asymmetrical breasts, with her right breast a B-cup and the left a C-cup. She expressed frustration at having to return to the same clinic for corrective procedures due to other facilities declining to intervene. Lisa aims to caution women about the risks associated with cosmetic surgeries and advocates for greater accountability within the industry.

Having spent £15,500 on treatments in the UK that could have been cheaper abroad, Lisa’s experience serves as a warning to others considering similar procedures. She emphasized the importance of self-acceptance and urged clinics to uphold high standards of care to prevent such incidents from reoccurring.

Despite the emotional and physical toll of the ordeal, Lisa remains grateful for the support of her family and hopes her story will raise awareness and prevent similar mishaps in the future. The clinic declined to comment on individual cases but reiterated its commitment to providing safe and quality care, encouraging prompt medical attention for any post-operative complications.
