Belle Hassan has admitted to engaging in playful late-night messaging with fellow Love Island contestant Joe Garratt just before they both joined the Love Island: All Stars villa. Belle expressed her fondness for Joe, referring to him as her “safety blanket,” and acknowledged that despite their efforts to keep their relationship friendly, flirting occasionally occurs between them.
In an interview with The Mirror, Belle shared, “I’d love to see Joe Garratt in there. He’s my best friend. Everyone keeps questioning if anything has happened, I’m like no. But I’d love to see him because he is my safety blanket and I love him so much.”
She went on to explain, “Everyone always asks if we’ve ever explored it, but the thing is, he has always been in a relationship when I’m single, and when he’s single, I’ve been in a relationship, so we’ve never been single at the same time. This is the only time we’ve been single at the same time. I’m like, ‘Stay away from me! I don’t want to ruin this.’ I can’t help but flirt, and neither can he. We flirt after 10 pm on the phone. We have a rule – no flirting before 10!”
Recently, Belle’s father, Tamer Hassan, expressed his pride in her, jokingly mentioning that he keeps a close eye on her activities. Belle mentioned that boys may feel intimidated by her father’s reputation but assured that he is a loving and caring person.
In a previous season, Joe coupled up with Lucie Donlan, while Belle was partnered with Anton Danyluk. Joe made a return to the villa for the All Stars Series in 2024 but was unexpectedly removed from the show in a dramatic turn of events.
Reflecting on his exit in an interview, Joe discussed his decision to choose Arabella during the recoupling, despite expectations for him to pick Molly Smith. Joe emphasized his preference for allowing love to blossom naturally and causing a bit of tension among the other contestants with his choice.
