WhatsApp users have exciting news to look forward to with a significant update on the way. The popular messaging app is set to roll out new features, including iPad support, enhanced in-car capabilities, improved PDF tools, and simplified music sharing options.
According to Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, these updates aim to ensure the app operates seamlessly across various devices used daily by people.
WhatsApp stated, “Your important conversations are not limited to just your phone anymore. Whether you’re chatting on your iPad, connecting with family during a drive, or managing multiple apps for work and personal tasks, WhatsApp is designed to be where you are.”
Among the notable changes is the ability for iPad users to create and register a WhatsApp account directly from the iPad app, eliminating the need to link it to a phone as was previously required.
The update also brings a revamped experience for drivers using Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, enabling them to interact with messages, make calls, view call history, and access favorite contacts directly from the car’s display, promoting safer driving practices.
Furthermore, WhatsApp now allows users to view PDF files within chats without downloading them first. Additionally, on web and desktop platforms, PDFs can be annotated and highlighted using Adobe Acrobat integration within WhatsApp.
Music enthusiasts can now easily share tracks from Apple Music and Spotify to their WhatsApp Status, simplifying the process of showcasing their current playlist to friends.
These new features are currently being rolled out, so users can expect to receive them in an upcoming app update.
