“Tyler Mislawchuk Grabs Bronze at World Triathlon Championship”

Tyler Mislawchuk of Canada secured a bronze medal at the World Triathlon Championship Series event held in Weihai, China, over the weekend. The 32-year-old athlete from Oak Bluff, Manitoba, completed the race in one hour, 41 minutes, and 25 seconds. Switzerland’s Max Studer clinched the gold medal with a time of 1:41:08, while Spain’s David Campero Del Campo finished ahead of Mislawchuk by seven seconds to take the silver.

Mislawchuk covered the 1.5-kilometer swim in 18:39, followed by the 38.6-kilometer bike course in 51:53. He then completed the final 10km run in 29:35. Expressing his excitement, Mislawchuk stated, “It’s been seven years of hard work, and standing on the WTCS podium competing against the world’s best is an unparalleled feeling. I seized an opportunity today and made a move three kilometers into the run. Throughout the last five kilometers, I reminded myself that this is what I train for every day. It’s gratifying to perform at the highest level.”

Unfortunately, fellow Canadian Liam Donnelly did not finish the race. In the women’s category, Canada’s Desirae Ridenour achieved her career-best eighth-place finish for the second consecutive season. The 26-year-old athlete from Cowichan Bay, British Columbia, completed all segments in a total time of 1:50:58. France’s Cassandre Beaugrand claimed the gold medal with a time of 1:49:20, followed by Beth Potter of Great Britain in second place at 1:49:26, and Germany’s Lisa Tertsch in third at 1:49:44.
