Another clip captures police cars blocking the van, which attempts to escape, leading to people smashing the van’s windows and eventually pulling out the driver.

According to reports, the lorry driver tried to breach a police blockade, prompting officers to fire at the vehicle in an effort to halt it. The distressing scene unfolded outside the Zhuhai Sports Centre, where witnesses informed local media that the victims were part of a group of middle-aged and elderly individuals exercising on the track.
In a statement, the police mentioned, “A passenger car struck several pedestrians at the sports center in Xiangzhou District of Zhuhai City and fled the scene.” The driver, identified as Fan Weiqiu, was reportedly dissatisfied with a divorce settlement and had attempted to end his life with a knife.
