“New PC Game ‘Mr. President’ Simulates US Politics”

The most recent Steam Fest highlights video games that draw inspiration from real-life board games or have equivalents in the physical gaming world.

In celebration of the launch of Steam Board Game Fest, a developer has introduced its game in Early Access, which may pique the interest of those interested in US politics.

For individuals critical of Donald Trump and confident in their ability to govern better, the new PC game “Mr. President” offers a chance to showcase their skills in the Oval Office.

This new title is a digital adaptation of the board game “Mr. President: The American Presidency 2000-2020,” providing players with a virtual experience of pivotal moments in American history over two transformative decades.

Within the game, players are tasked with guiding the US administration through historic events like 9/11 and COVID-19, as well as fictional scenarios mirroring broader political trends.

According to Exia Games, the developer, “Mr. President” offers a sandbox simulation of the U.S. presidency where players can pursue legislative agendas, compete with countries like Russia and China, handle crises from 9/11 to COVID-19, and direct military actions against terror groups and rogue nations.

Players will engage in activities such as nominating Supreme Court justices, managing political scandals, running re-election campaigns, and collaborating with Congress to enact new legislation.

Enhancements in the video game version, compared to the board game, include streamlined administrative tasks and a seamless board view enabling swift transitions between overall strategy and immediate crises.

Setting up new scenarios is quick and hassle-free, eliminating the need for prolonged setup and cleanup between gaming sessions.

The Steam Board Game Fest will be ongoing from January 26 until 10am PDT/6pm GMT on February 2, offering “Mr. President” at a discounted price of £16.79 throughout the event.
