“Beauty Bay Considers Sale Amid Industry Shake-up”

A prominent online beauty retailer is considering a potential sale as advisory services have been engaged to assess the company’s operations. Established in 1999 by siblings Arron and David Gabbie, Beauty Bay, headquartered in Manchester, offers a wide selection of over 200 brands, including popular names like Ariana Grande, Clinique, and MAC, in addition to its own product line.

According to a recent report by Sky News, Beauty Bay is exploring various funding options, with a potential sale of the business being one of them. Interpath, an advisory firm, is reportedly collaborating with Beauty Bay in this process. Currently, the company has a workforce of 65 employees, and inquiries have been made to seek comments from Beauty Bay by the Mirror.

In other beauty industry news, Malin + Goetz, a well-known brand, has recently entered administration and closed all seven of its stores in London, impacting over 70 jobs. Temporary suspension of online orders has been announced by Malin + Goetz, with a message on their website indicating a brief pause in online sales. However, customers can still purchase Malin + Goetz products through third-party retailers such as Liberty, John Lewis, and Space NK.

In a statement to TheIndustry.beauty, a spokesperson for Malin + Goetz expressed regret over the closure of UK stores and job losses, attributing the decision to a thorough review of the business and the exhaustion of viable alternatives. The company’s website is expected to resume operations after a short maintenance period, although the exact timeline remains uncertain. Founded in New York in 2004 by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz, Malin + Goetz initially offered a limited range of products for all skin types but has since expanded into fragrance, body care, and other beauty categories.
