“Teva Canada Recalls Teva-Pregabalin Capsules Over Sertraline Contamination”

Teva Canada has issued a recall for certain Teva-Pregabalin 150 mg capsules due to potential contamination with sertraline, as detected during routine testing. The affected lots are identified as 100070495 and 100068913, initially distributed in Canada in September 2025 with an expiration date of July 31, 2027.

Individuals with a hypersensitivity or allergy to sertraline may experience adverse effects or severe allergic reactions, including potentially fatal anaphylactic reactions even at low exposure levels, as highlighted in a recall notice from Health Canada. The agency advises individuals in possession of products from the aforementioned lots to return them to a pharmacy promptly.

Pregabalin is commonly prescribed for managing nerve damage-induced pain, while sertraline is used to alleviate symptoms associated with depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and panic disorders. Teva Canada, headquartered in Toronto, described the recall as a precautionary step in their announcement on Friday.
