Montreal’s Felix Auger-Aliassime suffered a 6-3, 6-4 defeat against American Frances Tiafoe in the fourth round of the Cincinnati Open on Wednesday evening. Despite serving 13 aces, the second-seeded Canadian committed 37 unforced errors. In contrast, Tiafoe, seeded 17th, only made 16 unforced errors and secured the win in one hour and 40 minutes.
Meanwhile, in the third-round doubles match, Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski and Barbora Krejcikova from Czechia were defeated 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 by the Czech pair of Linda Noskova and Marie Bouzkova. Dabrowski, hailing from Ottawa, typically partners with Luisa Stefani, but the Brazilian has been sidelined due to an elbow injury in recent weeks.
