Nova Scotia writer Rachel Reid has made a generous contribution of $300,000 to the Annapolis Valley Regional Library in response to the imminent closure of five branches. The library recently decided to allocate $80,000 from its reserve funds to keep the aforementioned branches open until the end of September.
