Greene King is offering complimentary pints of Guinness this weekend to coincide with the start of the Six Nations rugby tournament. To receive your free pint, simply reserve a table for any Six Nations match on February 7 through the Greene King website and present your booking confirmation at the bar.
This promotion is valid at all Greene King sports pubs, including Flaming Grill, Hungry Horse, and Belhaven, as part of the new Fans Reunited campaign, featuring Rugby World Cup champions Martin Johnson and Jason Robinson.
Zoe Bowley, the Managing Director of Greene King pubs, expressed, “Fans Reunited celebrates the pivotal role of sports and the pub environment in uniting people. By launching during the Guinness Six Nations and providing reunited fans with a complimentary pint, we aim to inspire those moments where old acquaintances reconnect over a drink.”
Martin Johnson commented, “Rugby has a unique way of bringing people together. Friendships established through sports are enduring and celebrate the essence of Greene King’s Fans Reunited campaign.”
Additionally, the Treasury recently announced a 15% reduction in business rates for pubs and music venues starting in April as part of a substantial support initiative. This decision was prompted by changes made in the November budget and the cessation of pandemic aid.
Treasury minister Dan Tomlinson stated that this support will amount to an average of £1,650 for each pub in the upcoming year. However, other hospitality establishments like hotels, restaurants, and cafes will not benefit from the same additional assistance.
Emma McClarkin, the chief executive of the BBPA, expressed satisfaction with the Government’s responsiveness to industry concerns, emphasizing that the pub-specific relief package will help mitigate immediate financial challenges and preserve the viability of many establishments.
