An exotic dancer has been taken into custody for allegedly beheading her boyfriend just two months into their relationship.
Enrique Gonzalez-Carbajal, aged 55, was discovered decapitated at the residence of his girlfriend, Alyssa Marie Lira, in Anaheim, California, on August 25. Lira, 23, was swiftly identified as the prime suspect, but she managed to evade capture by fleeing to Mexico.
Law enforcement officials reported that Lira, who was employed as a stripper at the time of the incident, has been extradited from Mexico to face a charge of murder, with an additional felony charge for weapon usage.
The couple initially met while Lira was performing as an exotic dancer at a local strip club in California. Despite starting a romantic relationship, tragedy struck when Enrique was found dead just two months later.
Following an intensive search operation involving the FBI and Mexican authorities, Lira was apprehended on January 22. She was subsequently transferred to Orange County authorities at the San Ysidro Port of Entry the following day.
Although the precise location in Mexico where Lira was apprehended remains undisclosed, prosecutors have not disclosed the motive behind the violent act. If convicted, Lira could potentially face up to 26 years in prison for her alleged crimes.
The suspect is set to appear in court on February 13. Currently incarcerated at Orange County Jail without bail, the 23-year-old will have her arraignment at the North Justice Center in Fullerton.
In a statement, District Attorney Todd Spitzer affirmed the unwavering commitment of law enforcement to pursue justice across borders, emphasizing the collaborative effort of various agencies in ensuring the apprehension of the suspect.
In a separate incident, a father was arrested for allegedly murdering his four children and concealing their bodies in his car while entertaining guests on dates. Wellington Delano Dickens III, aged 38, is facing four counts of first-degree murder following his arrest on October 28. Dickens reportedly contacted authorities, denying torture but admitting to excessive punishment of his children.
Law enforcement officials discovered the deceased bodies of the four young children in Dickens’ vehicle at his residence in North Carolina. Additionally, Dickens was accused of inviting individuals he met through the Grindr dating app after the alleged killings.
