“EDF’s Sunday Saver: Free Electricity for Peak Time Savers”

EDF introduces a promotion where customers can enjoy free electricity on Sundays by reducing their electricity usage during peak weekday hours. The initiative, known as the Sunday Saver challenge, requires customers to shift their electricity consumption away from peak hours between 4pm and 7pm each weekday.

In exchange for this effort, participants will receive between four and 16 hours of complimentary electricity on the following Sunday. EDF customers can take part in four Sunday Saver challenges scheduled for February, specifically on February 15, 22, and March 1, 8. Customers with smart meters can sign up for this offer until Sunday, February 1.

EDF reports that more than 260,000 households have already benefited from the Sunday Saver initiative, accumulating over 17 million free hours of electricity and receiving £5.2 million in bill credits. Natasha Shields from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, has personally earned over 680 free hours through this program, highlighting its positive impact on her family’s finances.

Jon Perks, EDF’s Sales & Marketing Director, emphasized the importance of the Sunday Saver program, especially during high winter bill periods. He mentioned that customers can monitor their electricity usage through the Energy Hub to identify opportunities for saving energy and reducing their carbon footprint.

Additionally, EDF is rewarding new and existing customers who sign up for any of its electric vehicle (EV) tariffs with £50 credit. These EV tariffs, including GoElectric, Pod Point EV Exclusive, Evolve, and Pod Point Plug & Power, offer five hours of discounted electricity every night from 12am to 5am for both household and vehicle charging. Users can track their Sunday Saver progress and energy usage through the Energy Hub via MyAccount.

By offering these incentives and initiatives, EDF aims to not only help customers save on their electricity bills but also contribute to a more sustainable electricity grid.
