“Lifeguard tragically drowns at Brazilian water park”

A tragic incident occurred at Wet’n Wild water park in Itupeva, Brazil, resulting in the death of a 24-year-old lifeguard named Guilherme da Guerra Domingos. While attempting to retrieve a tourist’s ring from a pool at the Water Bomb attraction, Guilherme was pulled into the pool’s drainage system and drowned.

Colleagues noticed Guilherme’s absence and initiated a rescue effort, pulling him out of the water and administering first aid. Despite their efforts and the arrival of emergency medical teams, Guilherme passed away shortly after being transported to Nossa Senhora Aparecida Municipal Hospital.

Wet’n Wild confirmed that Guilherme had been an employee for over two years and was recently promoted to a leadership role. The company stated that the Water Bomb attraction does not have a bottom drain and explained the hydraulic system’s safety features.

City officials confirmed that the park is in compliance with all necessary regulations and certifications, including occupancy permits and Fire Department Inspection Certificates. Wet’n Wild announced the temporary closure of the park and expressed condolences to Guilherme’s family while pledging full cooperation with the ongoing investigations.

Following necessary procedures, Guilherme’s body was taken to the Forensic Medical Institute in Jundiaí and later laid to rest in Bragança Paulista.
