“Russia Threatens Major Air Strike on Kyiv Amid Rising Tensions”

Russia has dismissed a peace agreement involving Ukraine and labeled British soldiers as “legitimate military targets,” raising concerns about a potential major air strike on Kyiv. The Kremlin rejected a recent US-European proposal offering security guarantees to Ukraine upon reaching a ceasefire, denouncing it as foreign intervention and a direct threat to Russian security.

Following a joint initiative by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron to establish military hubs in Ukraine for protection post-agreement, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused Britain and its allies of further militarizing Ukraine. She cautioned that Western military presence in the country, including bases and infrastructure, would be considered legitimate targets by Russian forces.

Zakharova criticized the 35-nation Coalition of the Willing as an “axis of war,” warning that their actions could have destructive consequences for Europe. She emphasized that any resolution to the conflict in Ukraine would require the country to adopt a neutral stance, abandon NATO aspirations, and relinquish occupied territories. Meanwhile, the US Embassy in Kyiv issued a warning to its citizens about a potential significant air attack on the Ukrainian capital in the coming days.

The embassy advised US citizens to be prepared to seek shelter immediately upon hearing air raid sirens. It is crucial to stay informed about the evolving situation and take necessary precautions.
