Davina McCall, a prominent figure on The Masked Singer UK, reached out to her supporters after what she described as an “emotional day.”
Taking to Instagram, the 58-year-old TV personality shared her thoughts on “National Quitters Day.”
In a video posted on her social media account, she highlighted that January 9 signifies the day when people are most likely to give up on their goals, including New Year’s resolutions.
Expressing her views, Davina stated: “But there’s no reason to celebrate that. Instead, we should acknowledge those who are still pushing forward while others are quitting.”
She further commented on the challenges of this time of year after the festive season has passed, describing it as a dull and stormy period.
Promoting her podcast, Begin Again, Davina referred to it as the “reset podcast.”
The presenter shared a significant update on her health, disclosing that she has completed her radiotherapy treatment. She emotionally expressed, “It was much more intense than I anticipated. I’m in need of positivity and strength.”
In a caption accompanying her post, Davina wrote: “Today is #nationalquittersday… quite disheartening, isn’t it? Let’s change our perspective! Also, just to reassure everyone… I’m doing well, don’t worry about me. It’s been a tough day, but I feel relieved, thankful, joyful, and optimistic. @beginagain, the ‘reset podcast.’
Supportive messages poured in from fans, with one expressing, “Sending you lots of love Davina. Let’s start anew together x.”
Another individual remarked, “Oh Davina, what a challenging year you’ve had, sending you love and healing vibes,” while someone else added, “Great job Davina… you’re making amazing progress… so glad you completed the treatment.”
Last November, Davina underwent surgery to remove a small lump after being diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. She also shared her plans for five days of preventative radiotherapy in January as a precautionary measure to minimize the chances of a recurrence.
The TV host discovered the lump during a self-check, inspired by Lorraine Kelly’s awareness campaign, and has since been advocating for regular self-examinations to detect cancer at an early stage.
This update follows her previous treatment for a benign brain tumor towards the end of 2024.
