“Vodafone Unveils 5G Router for Seamless Internet Connectivity”

Vodafone introduces a novel method for internet connectivity. Rather than relying on traditional copper or fiber cables, the company’s latest Wi-Fi router operates through a 5G mobile signal, enabling file downloads and movie streaming seamlessly.

This innovation is particularly beneficial for households without access to faster full fiber connections or for individuals seeking greater flexibility. The portable nature of the device caters to renters and students who frequently change residences.

An added advantage is the simple setup process. Since it operates on Vodafone’s network, there’s no need for professional installation or wall drilling. Users can easily plug it in, power it up, and enjoy immediate internet access.

It’s important to note that this new system offers speeds of up to 150Mbps, suitable for activities like streaming Netflix, emailing, and remote work. However, it falls short compared to full fiber connections, which can deliver speeds exceeding 900Mbps.

For reference, downloading a full HD movie using this 5G router takes approximately 8 minutes, significantly longer than the 40 seconds required with a fiber gigabit connection.

To assist consumers in choosing the most suitable option, Vodafone is launching an integrated availability checker on their website. This tool helps users determine whether full fiber or 5G Broadband will provide the fastest speeds in their area.

While Vodafone previously offered 5G internet access through the GigaCube device, it has now been replaced with this new router model.

According to Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director at VodafoneThree, the launch of Vodafone 5G Broadband aims to offer households a fast and reliable alternative to conventional broadband services. This initiative provides customers with more choices, combining full fiber and powerful 5G Broadband options for enhanced speed, convenience, and flexibility.

Additionally, Three, now a part of Vodafone, also offers a similar service to customers.

Vodafone’s pricing starts at £21 per month, while Three’s home broadband is currently priced at £11 for the initial nine months.
