“Sky Cinema Animation Joins Sky Cinema Family on April 30”

Sky viewers can expect a change in their TV lineup this week as the company merges Sky Cinema Animation (channel 312) with Sky Cinema Family on April 30. This move aims to simplify the service by consolidating family-friendly films into one destination on channel 304. Titles like the Shrek series, The Secret Life of Pets, Smurfs, and more will now be available in one place for viewers. Although there will be one less channel to watch, all content previously shown on Sky Cinema Animation will still be accessible through Sky Cinema Family.

For fans of Sky Cinema Animation, there is a silver lining. While the standalone channel will be removed, it will make a temporary return during school holiday periods to entertain kids. Sky has confirmed availability from July 24 to August 30, October 23 to November 1, and December 1 to January 5.

In other news, Sky has ventured into the home security market by introducing new smart devices. Customers can subscribe to a Sky Smart Doorbell and Chime for £5 a month with a £15 upfront cost. This system offers features like full HD video recording, instant mobile alerts, customisable activity zones, two-way audio, and cloud video storage for 30 days.

For those seeking additional functionalities, Sky also offers a Smart Home Bundle with Smart Home Plan+ for £8 per month and a £20 upfront fee. This package includes an indoor camera and extra app controls for scheduled arming and automatic device modes.

Paul Sweeney, Managing Director of Sky Smart Home, emphasized the company’s goal of providing premium smart technology that is accessible, user-friendly, and affordable. Sky has focused on delivering features that customers value while ensuring simplicity and ease of use.
