WhatsApp users can now enjoy a significant enhancement as the Meta-owned platform has unveiled a dedicated app for the Apple Watch. This new app simplifies messaging and responding to friends, eliminating the need to access a smartphone.
Although WhatsApp notifications have been available on the Apple Watch for years, the functionality was limited. Users could only view message snippets rather than the full content. With the latest update, the app now mirrors the experience on smartphones, tablets, and PCs, allowing users to read complete messages, reply with emojis, and send voice memos.
The update brings several new features, including call notifications, the ability to read full messages, send voice messages, react with emojis, enhanced media viewing with clear images and stickers, and improved chat history visibility. WhatsApp promises a seamless experience on the Apple Watch, ensuring privacy with end-to-end encryption.
Notably, the new WhatsApp Apple Watch app is compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 or later, running watchOS 10 or later. While the app is not yet available, its release is expected in the coming days, according to Mirror Online’s latest update.
