The new law also permits schools to serve non-dairy milk meeting milk nutritional standards and mandates offering non-dairy alternatives for students with dietary restrictions.
Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr praised the legislation as a much-needed correction to school nutrition policies. These new regulations will impact around 30 million students enrolled in the National School Lunch Program.
