A tragic incident unfolded in the Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh, India, where a six-year-old girl lost her life after allegedly being gang-raped and thrown off a rooftop, as reported by the police on Friday. Despite immediate medical attention at a local hospital, the young victim succumbed to her injuries upon arrival.
Following the horrifying event, the authorities swiftly apprehended two suspects named Raju and Veeru after a brief confrontation in the Sikandrabad industrial area. Both individuals sustained gunshot wounds during the encounter and were subsequently taken to a medical facility for treatment. Law enforcement officers recovered two firearms and ammunition at the scene of the arrest.
The victim’s father lodged a formal complaint, prompting the police to deploy three specialized teams to track down the alleged perpetrators. Superintendent of Police Dr. Tejveer Singh disclosed that the accused individuals engaged in a shootout with the officers during the interception.
Singh informed the press that the defendants confessed to their involvement during initial questioning. Reports suggest that the young girl, who lived in the same building as the suspects, was assaulted while playing on the terrace.
Family members assert that the girl was sexually assaulted before being thrown off the roof. Authorities have ordered a post-mortem examination to verify the assault allegations.
Further charges will be added to the case by the police pending the release of the medical examination results. The incident has sparked outrage in the area, shedding light on the persistent concerns regarding crimes targeting women and children in India.
