Teens Abducted, Forced to Dig Graves in Drug-Related Horror

Two teenagers were abducted, stabbed, and forced to dig their own graves in a wooded area in a harrowing incident believed to be tied to drug-related conflicts, as reported by the police.
The victims, aged 14 and 16, were taken from a hotel parking lot in Carquefou, near Nantes, on Friday night, January 2, by multiple masked individuals. Witnesses observed the teenagers being forced into a vehicle. Despite a swift response by authorities, no trace of the victims or the car was found.
At approximately 3:00 am, a resident in La Chapelle-sur-Erdre, about ten kilometers away, found the two boys at his doorstep. Both youths showed visible injuries, including bloody faces, cut fingers, and signs of extreme distress.
One of the teenagers sustained a stab wound to the thigh. The resident promptly alerted the authorities and administered initial aid. Subsequently, the victims were transported to Nantes University Hospital for medical attention.
Based on accounts provided to investigators, the teenagers were taken to a nearby forest, confined in a car’s trunk, and subjected to severe physical abuse. The assailants stripped them, assaulted them, and made death threats.
The victims were allegedly threatened with a gun and compelled to dig a hole with their hands, which could have served as their graves. Law enforcement later located the spot described by the victims, uncovering their discarded clothing and the dug-out pit.
Nantes public prosecutor Antoine Leroy confirmed the initiation of an inquiry into charges of abduction, unlawful confinement, and violent acts.
Authorities from the local criminal investigation department suspect that the incident may be linked to tensions within the drug trade, likely stemming from disputes between traffickers.
The younger teenager, originally from Angers, had reportedly been evading capture for several months before the abduction. Both victims have cooperated with the authorities, although they appeared hesitant to provide detailed information about the ordeal.
The investigation is presently led by Nantes’ gendarmerie research unit. Prosecutor Leroy indicated progress in identifying the perpetrators of the brutal abduction, but no arrests have been made so far.
