“Teen Trio Sentenced in Brutal Homeless Man Murder”

Three teenagers have been sentenced for the brutal murder of a homeless man who was struck with a gin bottle after being hit by a car. Eymaiyah Lee Bradshaw-McKoy, 18, Mia Campos-Jorge, 19, and Jaidee Bingham, 18, assaulted Anthony Marks, 51, resulting in a fatal brain injury. Bingham was convicted of murder after a 47-hour deliberation by the jury at the Old Bailey on October 30. Bradshaw-McKoy and Campos-Jorge were cleared of murder but found guilty of manslaughter. Despite missed chances to save the victim, all three were held accountable for his death.

In court today, Judge Mark Dennis KC handed Bingham a life sentence with a minimum of 16 years, while Bradshaw-McKoy received a term of three years and 11 months, and Campos-Jorge was sentenced to three years and six months.

Detective Inspector Jim Barry, leading the investigation for the Met’s Specialist Crime North, described the murder as a heartless act shedding light on the ruthless nature of county lines gangs. The young ages of the perpetrators were particularly shocking, but their involvement in violent actions within a drug operation instilling fear in London was inexcusable.

The trio, believing they had evaded justice, even took selfies and joked about their crime. Police used this evidence to place them at the crime scene. The verdict demonstrates the Met’s commitment to combating criminal gangs and seeking justice for victims.

The Metropolitan Police revealed that Mr. Marks was struck with a car bonnet, chased down, stomped on, and beaten with a gin bottle in a brutal county lines retaliation attack. Staff at King’s Cross station discovered Mr. Marks with severe injuries and summoned emergency services on August 10, 2024.

Following the assault, Mr. Marks was found to have bleeding on the brain, exacerbated by a prior injury. Recalled to prison for violating his release terms, Mr. Marks recounted a confrontation with a drug dealer, leading to the violent attack by Bingham and the two young women.

After being discharged from the hospital and transferred to prison, Mr. Marks experienced health complications, including headaches and slurred speech. Despite these symptoms, he did not undergo another brain scan. Later, he suffered a seizure in his cell, leading to emergency surgery to remove a blood clot. Sadly, he passed away on September 14 due to the brain bleeding caused by the earlier assault.
