Sky has recently disclosed upcoming modifications to its TV channel lineup, which are expected to go live shortly. As part of these changes, Sky Showcase and Sky Max are set to be discontinued from broadcast starting February 24. However, to compensate for these closures, a beloved channel, Sky One, will be reintroduced to offer a variety of comedy and entertainment programs like The Dyers’ Caravan Park and Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby.
Subscribers can look forward to a mix of new and familiar content on Sky One, including popular shows like Rob & Romesh Vs., The Paper, and Ted. Additionally, the channel will be the exclusive home of Saturday Night Live UK, premiering later this year.
Carli Kerr, the Managing Director of Sky TV & NOW, expressed enthusiasm for the channel’s relaunch, emphasizing the diverse range of content it will offer. Sky One is positioned as a vibrant and dynamic destination featuring new Sky Originals, returning favorites, and upcoming shows like Saturday Night Live UK.
Sky One is scheduled to launch on channel 106 on February 24, providing viewers with an extensive selection of entertainment. Alongside this channel debut, Sky is gearing up to introduce a new subscription plan called Ultimate TV, priced at £24 per month. This plan will grant access to popular streaming services such as Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and HBO Max, in addition to over 130 premium channels like Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, and Sky Crime.
Furthermore, subscribers opting for the Ultimate TV plan will enjoy a dedicated Disney movie channel within the Sky Cinema package, simplifying access to Hollywood blockbusters without navigating through the Disney+ app. The comprehensive £24 plan includes Netflix Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard with Ads (starting in March), HBO Max Basic with Ads (beginning March 26th), Hayu (available in July), and an extensive lineup of channels from Sky.
