The PDC has decided not to penalize Fallon Sherrock for her conduct during her recent match against Dave Chisnall at the World Championship. Sherrock playfully imitated an incident involving a drinks table that her former partner, Cameron Menzies, was involved in earlier in the week.
Menzies, who was visibly injured after expressing his frustration on the table following a loss to Charlie Manby, had dated Sherrock for four years before their amicable split earlier this year. The PDC’s CEO, Matt Porter, emphasized their support for Menzies in dealing with the aftermath of his match, prioritizing his well-being.
Both Sherrock and Menzies faced first-round exits from the championship. Sherrock struggled with her doubles against Chisnall, missing 20 out of 23 attempts in a 3-0 defeat. On the other hand, Menzies, seeded 26th, lost 3-2 to Manby after leading at various points in the match. Menzies attributed his emotional reaction to personal challenges, including the recent passing of his uncle.
Chisnall acknowledged the competitiveness of his match against Sherrock, mentioning that her performance on doubles could have changed the outcome. He will advance to face Ricardo Pietreczko in the next round, while other seeded players like Josh Rock and Nathan Aspinall are set to compete in upcoming matches.
In another match, rising talent Beau Greaves is preparing to start her campaign against 22nd seed Daryl Gurney, with the winner moving on to face Callan Rydz in the following round. The World Championship promises exciting matchups, with defending champion Luke Littler and challenger Luke Humphries headlining the event.
