“HBO Max Launches on Sky in the UK, Including Game of Thrones and Friends”

Sky customers in the UK are in for a treat as HBO Max, the latest streaming service, has launched in the country. Subscribers with Sky Ultimate TV packages can now enjoy popular shows like Game of Thrones, Friends, Dune, and more without any additional cost, saving them over £50 annually.

Sky confirmed that customers with Sky Ultimate TV, Sky Stream, Sky Glass, or specific Sky Q packages will have access to HBO Max Basic with Ads as part of their subscription. This service offers a wide range of HBO dramas, including classics like Succession and The Wire, as well as new Max Originals like The Pitt, and a variety of Warner Bros. films.

Getting started with HBO Max is easy for eligible Sky customers. By launching the HBO Max app from the homepage, they can follow the on-screen instructions to activate the service and enjoy on-demand streaming of their favorite content.

For those not on the Sky Ultimate TV plan, switching to it is an option starting at £22 per month, increasing to £24 from April 1st. This package not only includes over 130 Sky channels but also offers access to Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and the upcoming Hayu service.

Sophia Ahmad, Sky’s Chief Consumer Officer, described the integration of Sky, Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and Hayu into a single subscription as a significant milestone for the company. NOW Entertainment customers will also benefit from HBO Max at no extra charge, seamlessly integrated into the NOW app.

If you’re not a Sky subscriber, you can sign up for HBO Max directly on its website, with Standard with Ads plans starting at £5.99 per month.
