“Ex-Husband Arrested in Tepe Family Murders”

A surprising turn of events has unfolded in the tragic deaths of Spencer Tepe and Monique Tepe. Monique’s ex-husband, Michael McKee, has been arrested and charged with their murders. The bodies of Monique, 39, and Spencer, 37, were discovered in their home on December 30 after colleagues grew concerned when Spencer did not show up for work. Upon arriving at the residence and hearing children crying, a welfare check was initiated, revealing a gruesome scene.

Although the Tepes’ children were unharmed, it was evident that their parents had been brutally killed before them. Spencer had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, while Monique was shot at least once in the chest, according to police records.

Authorities ruled out a murder-suicide and released footage of a suspicious individual near the Tepes’ residence. Michael McKee was later apprehended on January 10 and charged with the murders following surveillance in Columbus, Ohio. McKee, who pleaded not guilty in court, had been married to Monique for nearly two years before their divorce in 2017.

The investigation led detectives to identify McKee as a suspect through neighborhood surveillance footage, ultimately locating him in Rockford, Illinois. Despite the shocking development, McKee’s neighbors expressed disbelief, noting his seemingly normal demeanor.

The Tepe family, who recently gathered for a celebration of life service, issued a statement expressing gratitude for the arrest and emphasizing the importance of justice for Monique and Spencer. They thanked the community for their support and vowed to honor the memory of the slain couple while caring for their children.
