Eamonn Holmes has suggested he has some remorse following his former partner Ruth Langsford’s revelation that she was open to the idea of remarrying after their unexpected separation. The celebrity duo, who formally announced the conclusion of their 14-year marriage in a joint statement in May 2024, have since gone their separate ways, with Eamonn now dating relationship counselor Katie Alexander.
While Ruth, aged 65, has reportedly remained single, she recently shared her thoughts on the possibility of entering into a new marriage. She also disclosed that she sought counseling following her split from Eamonn, who is currently a host on GB News. Ruth mentioned that she maintains an open-minded perspective towards embarking on another serious relationship, expressing that she has not ruled out the idea of marriage entirely.
In an interview for the January 2026 edition of Mind Jump magazine, Eamonn indicated his regret regarding certain past decisions. When asked what he would change if given the chance to alter anything, he admitted he would strive for a better equilibrium between his career and personal life. The former This Morning host refrained from directly addressing his biggest regret, leaving the question unanswered by the magazine.
Additionally, Eamonn, who hails from Belfast, discussed his challenging physical health and issues with mobility, expressing gratitude for the individuals who supported him. In 2016, he underwent a double hip replacement due to severe leg, hip, and back pain, which significantly impacted his daily activities. Subsequent to this, in 2021, he faced a recurrence of chronic pain caused by three slipped discs in his back, leading to further health complications.
During a work trip to Belfast in the following year, Eamonn experienced complications related to his spinal condition, resulting in hospitalization and subsequent surgery to address the issue. This procedure, although intended to improve his condition, led to mobility issues and several falls.
