In 2010, Jamie-Lee’s father, Isakin Drabbad, brutally murdered his girlfriend, Helle Christensen, and cannibalized parts of her body. He was convicted of murder and confined to a mental health facility in 2011. However, in 2020, he transitioned to an outpatient status and was provided with an apartment in his hometown in Sweden.
Jamie-Lee revealed that her father and his girlfriend had a seemingly joyful relationship initially, but it deteriorated into toxicity. Helle chillingly warned Jamie-Lee about Drabbad’s intentions to harm her. The night before her tragic demise, a heated altercation between Helle and Isakin ensued, witnessed by Jamie-Lee and other children.
On November 12, 2010, Isakin Drabbad fatally attacked Helle, gruesomely mutilating her body. Upon learning of Helle’s death, Jamie-Lee’s initial shock led her to suspect her father’s involvement. She later learned the full details from her father directly.
The murder case gained notoriety in Sweden, and in a documentary, Jamie-Lee disclosed details about her upbringing, including her father’s macabre actions of creating voodoo dolls. She described her father’s residence as filled with darkness and adorned with imagery from horror films.
Despite the harrowing past, Jamie-Lee expressed her enduring love for her father, emphasizing the complexity of familial bonds. She emphasized her commitment to shielding her own children from darkness and providing them with love and security.
