Actress Nina Wadia, known for her role in EastEnders, has criticized the use of ‘fat jabs’ and shared her strategies for weight loss. At 57, Wadia attributes her transformation to a combination of exercise and a balanced diet.
She disclosed that her regimen involves regular exercise and a shift towards healthier eating habits, which have resulted in increased energy levels. Wadia emphasized the importance of gradual and sustainable weight loss through lifestyle changes rather than quick fixes, highlighting her collaboration with the NHS on this concept.
Additionally, Wadia is promoting her This Girl Can initiative to promote physical activity as people age, incorporating natural juices and a more plant-based diet into her routine. Despite her impressive physical transformation, the actress, who gained fame in the nineties with Goodness Gracious Me, expressed challenges in finding television opportunities.
Acknowledging the scarcity of acting roles, especially as a mother of two, Wadia discussed the balancing act between her career and family responsibilities. She noted that prioritizing motherhood has sometimes led to gaps in her professional engagements due to discrimination against working mothers.
Having gained popularity on EastEnders from 2007 to 2013, Wadia departed citing the soap’s increasingly unrealistic storylines as a major factor. She revealed on a Channel 5 show that the absurdity of the narrative, including her character’s husband repeatedly having affairs, influenced her decision to leave the show.
