A tragic incident unfolded in southwest Sydney as a man lost his life in a helicopter crash. The crash occurred at approximately 1:30 pm local time on Friday, October 3, in a carpark on Birch Street, Bankstown. Upon receiving reports of the crash, emergency services, including police and ambulances, rushed to the scene.
Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, the unidentified man could not be saved and succumbed to his injuries on-site. Another individual, a 19-year-old man, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Liverpool Hospital in critical condition.
Following the crash, NSW Police issued a statement confirming the fatality and the injured individual’s condition. A crime scene was established by officers from Bankstown Police Area Command, with the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) set to investigate the crash’s cause. Authorities will prepare a report for the coroner based on the findings.

In a separate incident, hikers made a grim discovery of two deceased women while traversing an isolated area near Lendenfeld Point in Australia’s alpine region in Victoria. The hikers promptly alerted authorities just before 1 pm local time. Search and Rescue Squad and Air Wing officers responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. The identities of the deceased women, believed to be in their 20s or 30s, remain unknown.
