“Geoff Ogilvy’s International Team Picks for Presidents Cup”

International team captain Geoff Ogilvy selected two Canadian players, Corey Conners from Listowel, Ont., and Nick Taylor from Abbotsford, B.C. Additionally, Ryo Hisatsune was chosen. This marks the first instance since 1998 that the International team will have two Japanese players, with Hideki Matsuyama securing one of the six automatic spots.

Jackson Koivun was named to the U.S. team for the upcoming Presidents Cup, just three months after departing Auburn. He is one of the two newcomers to the American team, which has maintained an unbeaten record for the past 28 years. Koivun, who clinched victory at the 3M Open in only his third professional start, and qualified for the PGA Tour postseason within five tournaments, becomes the first player since Jordan Spieth in 2013 to enter the Presidents Cup without a tour card.

U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker also included Jacob Bridgeman, a winner at Riviera this year, in the team. Despite his performance at the Tour Championship and finishing third, Snedeker opted not to select Ryan Gerard, who is ranked 22nd in the world.

The Presidents Cup, scheduled for Sept. 24-27 at Medinah, has undergone a complete renovation by Ogilvy’s Australia-based golf course design company.
