“Taylor Swift Songs Removed from Trump Campaign Videos”

Some social media videos shared by the campaign of U.S. President Donald Trump and the White House have had Taylor Swift songs removed from them. These videos had featured two of the popular American singer’s tracks in the past week.

Neither the White House nor a representative for Taylor Swift provided an immediate response to requests for comment.

While Taylor Swift has not recently addressed Trump directly, she did endorse his Democratic opponent, then-Vice President Kamala Harris, in 2024. During the 2020 election campaign, Swift expressed her strong disapproval of Trump serving as president.

Trump has been openly critical of Taylor Swift, especially after she endorsed Kamala Harris. He has made disparaging remarks about her on social media, including stating that he hates her. Several other artists, such as Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande, have also demanded that the Trump administration refrain from using their songs.

On the Trump campaign’s TikTok page, two Taylor Swift songs were featured over the past week. One video referenced Swift’s popular songs, including one titled “Red (Donald Trump’s Version).” In a video posted in June, Trump’s campaign used Swift’s song “I Knew It, I Knew You” from the fictional movie “Toy Story 5,” with the caption emphasizing Trump’s love for the country and its people.

This isn’t the first time the Trump administration or his campaign has used Taylor Swift’s music in their videos. In April, a video shared by the White House included Swift’s song “High Infidelity,” and lyrics from the track “Do you really want to know where I was April 29th?” Another TikTok video in November featured Swift’s song “The Fate of Ophelia” from her album “The Life of a Showgirl,” released the previous month.

One particular video shared by the White House in November, featuring the song “The Fate of Ophelia” from Swift’s recent album, garnered significant attention on social media. The White House spokesperson explained that these videos were created with the expectation that news outlets would amplify them.

The Trump administration’s communications team, known for its active social media presence, has shared various videos accompanied by popular songs, showcasing topics such as Trump’s immigration policies, military operations, and the arrest of former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
